“Creating Revenue through the Arts” mission project was developed eight years ago by Wendy Carpenter. Every year Wendy travels to Guatemala to work with the Mayan communities for three months. She teaches the women how to make contemporary clothing patterns, sew on machines, and market the clothing sewn with their beautiful hand weaved jaspe’ fabric. Wendy’s fair trade wage and volunteer teaching time provide a specialized skill and higher standard of living for the women, their families, and the Mayan community as a whole.
Please join us on Saturday, November 26th, for the Holiday Event..."Creating Revenue through the Arts" at Interfibers Studio Gallery! All the clothing and jewelry created through the mission project will be on sale at an affordable price range for Christmas gifts! Unique gift purchasing, a discussion at noon about Wendy's mission project in Guatemala, and plenty of sweet treats and hot apple cider.
Many thanks to the Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran church and the Unitarian Universalist fellowship for their past support!
