The fine art of fiber wall-sculptures & tapestries by Wendy Carpenter:
My handwoven "Bay and Bluff" tapestry wall hanging expresses, through borderline abstract-literal interpretations, the Door County Escarpment history.
It is an expression of nature's glacier power, gouging out soft shale and exposing harder dolomite. This force of character gave shape to the Great Lakes, the world's largest single supply of fresh water. It is created in an impressionist art style that captures nature's emotion and power by abstracting the natural world! It is handwoven using an inlay tapestry technique and measures 6' long by 3' wide.
