The Contemporary fine art of fiber wall sculptures and hangings by Wendy Carpenter:
My work reveals a personal expressionism style derived from borderline literal/abstract interpretations that capture the emotion and power of nature.
I created " I created the Sky is the Limit" through a Wisconsin Arts Board grant, along with an independent study with the renown fiber artist Rebecca Bluestone at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay.
The 5 x 6-foot tapestry is threaded on an iron ellipse frame and hand weaved directly on the frame with my personally exposed warp tapestry weaving style. The tapestry speaks to the notion that when we dream big (out of the box so to speak) we accomplish huge goals! We reach to become something greater than ourselves. The sky becomes the limit when we reach outside the comfort zone where dreams do become reality!
