“Creating Revenue through the Arts” mission project was developed eight years ago by Wendy Carpenter. Every year Wendy travels to Guatemala to work with the Mayan communities for three months. She teaches the women how to make contemporary clothing patterns, sew on machines, and market the clothing sewn with their beautiful hand weaved jaspe’ fabric. Wendy’s fair trade wage and volunteer teaching time provide a specialized skill and higher standard of living for the women, their families, and the Mayan community as a whole.
Wendy's 2016 jacket design, only three left, is an open cardigan style jacket fashioned short in the back with a long tailored front fold.
