I design jackets using handwoven fabric by the Mayan weavers of Guatemala. It is a fair trade project to support the indigenous communities.
My 2018 design is a waist length angle zipper jacket hand sewed in sections with tapestry panels. I repurpose handcrafted Mayan blouses (woven on backstrap looms) for the tapestry panels. The smooth nylon sheen combined with the textural tapestry panels is stunning! I use one Mayan tapestry blouse to sew four jackets! Eight colors are available in two sizes with two side pockets, small and medium.
