The fine art of fiber wall sculptures and hangings by Wendy Carpenter reveals her personal expressionism style through borderline "abstract-literal" interpretations. Fiber art that captures the emotion and power of objects by abstracting the natural world.
"The Ancestral Robe" fiber art wall-hanging is part of a "Book of Changes Asian art series". The Robe is handwoven with a silk tablecloth purchased in China, it measures 4' wide by 3' long with a 4 " depth. I hand wove the fabric flat and constructed, sewed, and layered the robe off-loom. "Ancestral Robe" expresses the Asian culture through their specialized apparel. It is my personal expression to honor Asian customs and long cultural history.
