White Pelican Sculpture | Fiber Art in Door County Wisconsin
Art Gallery located in Door County Winsconsin, Interfibers, offers Bohemian Style Wall Hanging Tapestries and other various art pieces to connect with nature as never before.
Wendy Carpenter weaves fiber wall sculpture and large tapestries revealing an impressionist art style derived through borderline abstract-literal interpretations, inspired by nature, and expressed in form, color, and tactile materials.
"White Pelican" sculpture is constructed on a natural-found cedar log armature. The fabric is woven with wool yarn and shaped on-loom to create feather forms with bamboo incorporated as the feather spine. The 3-D fiber bird sculpture measures 3' long by 1' wide by 1.5' high. The pelican gular is constructed with handmade hemp paper, and the beak is stained with a mustard-colored milk wash pigment. It is a mixed media playful creation of fine art of fiber!
